If anyone could help me identify this tool i would appreciate it. Its very old and i cant find any numbers of patent date of any kind on it?

For some odd reason I want to say it's a combination hoof cleaner, and ?? Almost like a manicure set for horses
but do you see the second pic where that middle part lifts up and it almost has a hole for maybe crimping or cutting, dunno. the it fits back down in the round part as in pic 1

I have one almost exactly like it. My antiques consultant told me she thought it was likely a device for holding a candle, with the spike rammed into the wooden wall.
It is definitely not a hoof pick. It's forged iron, with a sharp point. Hoof picks are flattened at the working end, to prevent damaging the frog of the foot, which is the most vulnerable part.
It looks very much to me to be a Miners Tommy Stick. These were usually hand forged. It was a candle holder to be used in the mines. The candle would go in the thing in the middle on the side and the pointed end could be shoved into a timber, or it could be hung by the hook on the top.
wow sounds interesting, I did just find some markings on it. I cant read it entirely but it something like ???leave.
Thats got to be just amazing to examine!
