It was mounted to a piece of pipe and a friend's grandfather's ranch for at least 50 years of it's life. She told me if she ever had to move out of the house she would give it to me because 10 years ...

I di and they said it was a mixture of silver and iridium...not sure if its iridium he said or rhodium

I took a negative pic of the tang and can slightly see some traces of signing i will post it and if you zoom in you can see what im notim talking about

from what I can find on the "diamond W" marking.....it was made by the J.H. Williams tool company.

wow sounds interesting, I did just find some markings on it. I cant read it entirely but it something like ???leave.
but do you see the second pic where that middle part lifts up and it almost has a hole for maybe crimping or cutting, dunno. the it fits back down in the round part as in pic 1
