These meoto yunomi are about 2.75" high, with the larger cup a bit shorter, and the larger volume cup is noticeably larger. Both cups are marked on the bottom, but with a symbol, not characters. The shape of the cups is triangular, but definitely handmade. This is a different take on meoto yunomi where the woman's cup is typically shorter than the man's cup. The design contains the word "NOW" so fitting with the re-imagining of the meoto yunomi concept, as perhaps is the use of English on them.

Purchased in the 1980s in Kyushu, Japan. The major kilns in Kyushu are Arita, Imari, Karatsu and Koishiwara. There are other kilns, though. This set does not look like Arita or Imari. They sellers could not remember the name of the artist. The maker's mark is very distinctive, and I borrowed a better image from one of several small plates the seller was also offering. Based on the style of the plates, my guess on kiln is Koishiwara, but that is a WAG. The plates were thickly made, heavy and irregular.

Thanks for your comments, Jenni! I like the construction, not super wild about the graphics, but they are unique!
