Found on Thursday is this piece by Brian Hirst. Brian is a Sydney AuStralia based glass artist.
The vase is signed with both an engraved 'Hirst 95 & star' and the impressed BH seal-mark within the pontil.
Internal gold leaf and applied gold and silver leaf externally. One edge has been acid etched.
H : 18 cm.
W : 20.5 cm.
As I have mentioned before on CW, Brian Hirst is a genuinely nice man and his work can be really extraordinary.
In 2008 he was added to the list of LIVING TREASURES: MASTERS OF AUSTRALIAN CRAFT.
