Kutani Kosen sake cup

This hand made, hand decorated sake cup is 2.25" in diameter x 1.75" high. It has the Kutani Kosen mark on the bottom. Maybe 1950s. I just found this single cup. Not sure if it was part of a set or just a single cup missing its box.

It is a nice, thick cup with pronounced ridges. A sturdy little cup, quite pleasant to handle. In general, I prefer cups decorated on all sides, but this one has quite a bit of character, even on the sides which are not decorated.

I found it a county where my family has resided since 1817.
