This 2 1-2" goldtone filigree border brooch has early autumn shaded rhinestones in a floral design. By Emmons (1948-1981) founded by Charles Stuart, this piece ca 1960s

Sherman often used shades of grey which have a long history of balance and neutrality. Associated with peace and tranquility the stones often give jewelry a more stately presence of wisdom for older women !~

Phil you are so right, grey is a great rhinestone color because its neutrality blends so well with any color. This Emmons brooch does remind me of a yellow & grey rhinestone crescent brooch in my Sherman collection, it's a favorite for the very reason of that unusual color blend, Sherman was so innovative with his rhinestone color combinations. I'm working on getting another Sherman piece for this Fall that I hope you will like. Thank you for your always insightful & terrific comment :)
