    On-line sources inform that Button's Pattern wire-cutter pliers were first introduced in the late 1860s, typically with two or three wire-cutting slots on the side and between the jaws. Very popular in the late 1800s, Kraeuter Tool's version (like this No. 1841-8) were produced from around 1910 (or earlier) until at least the 1940s.

    This pair came to me crusty and rusty, and were cleaned via electrolysis. Now, once again they perform as if new.
