This Japanese yunomi is 3" high and slightly out of round, varying from 2.75" to 3" in diameter, so pretty certainly hand made. The mark is deeply stamped on the bottom and I believe it to be a stylized Kutani mark. The interior is partly off white and partly deep gray, with the white part having a crackle finish. The glaze is garishly bold, even with some gilt in places, but I think it works. This cup is the work of a very talented artist or artists, in the case the potter and the glazer were not the same person. Great cup, if I do say so myself. I have not seen anything else like it.
What a beauty! The large red & yellow flowers in the pattern are so lovely
