This clock is from China by way of Ireland, I bought it from a vendor in Ireland. I saw it and loved it. It is 17" tall 12" wide, and 7" deep. The veneer is stained red. I love the brass accoutrements and the beehive or tombstone shape. I tinkered with it today, the pivots are fine as are the springs, and it works. The clock only strikes the hour. It didn't have a gong coil but I had a spare, it has one now. The last time it was serviced according to a notation on the back of the dial was April 1952.
The case is in horrible shape, I plan to strip the clock down, go over the case with some steel wool and will probably enamel it a satin regal red, I will polish the brass but just enough to give it some higher definition.
