Does anybody know what kind of necklace this is is very pretty. Every time I look it up it says Harlequin opal and I'm not sure what that is or how you can tell if it is or not. Any help would greatly be appreciated closeup with loupe

Looks like what's sometimes called a Mexican Opal.

How can u tell if it is real

Can't say if it's real or not, just know that these aren't valuable like real opals, they were mainly sold to tourists, so I don't think there would be much profit in faking them. Sometimes they are set in Mexican sterling silver and other times in spelter aka zinc.
