this is a reproduction of Belmont's "Bird Salt" c1884; originals don't have foliage on the egg

Nice piece and love the color.I was surprised at how many glass and pottery companies there was at one time in Ohio.My family is from Toledo and our mother has all kinds of unique pieces of glass that had been passed down from her aunts and my great grandmother.

Hi JB, great to see you!! Yes the Ohio glass co's were truly amazing, I agree - besides Summit you had Cambridge, Boyd, Degenhart etc, a bounty of beautiful glass from your grandmother's day, & nice that your mom kept them. Thank you for your terrific comment & all the loves today, SO kind of you, will acknowledge all over the weekend

The loves are most gratefully appreciated everyone, thank you so much

Welcome back Phil my friend I was worried about you, our health is so important. Please take it easy and be well OK. Thank you for your fabulous praise for this piece, the blue is really nice and I think the cup part looks rather like a tulip

DejaVu & Phil, the love is always warmly appreciated, thanks so much guys :)
