      Hi, Kennethricketts. :-)

I'm definitely not an expert, but your Lincoln Shield one cent coin looks to me like it has suffered post-mint damage, and deliberate damage at that (not to be confused, say, with post-mint damaged caused by getting caught in a clothes dryer).

What caught my attention was the little dot of surviving copper cladding at the very center of the coin on both sides.

I suppose there could be a high spot right on the edge of Lincoln's beard, but I don't see anything on the shield side:

A lot of people damage coins deliberately, e.g.:

Here's a list of Lincoln one cent coin errors:

Kera so what you’re saying it’s suffering from post traumatic mint syndrome

      Yeah, that's the ticket. };-)

Actually, in reading back, I didn't quite explain all of my thinking (such as it was).

Those two surviving spots of copper cladding, one on each side in the middle seemed to suggest that the coin had been 'pinched' in the middle by something.

I suppose it could still be a clothes dryer-damaged coin, but it also seems possible that it was pinched/held by something else.

That is a heavily damaged cent not an error
