In southeastern New York where I live (specifically, Long Island), so far this September we have been having very mild and humid temperatures, aka 'Indian summer' as they call it. Hence my sunny 'bugs post', a season that should be past but has not. Here are three pesky bugs in brooch form which makes them prettier:
Japanese beetle, 1", tiny white rhinestones, red enamel & green eye, marked craft for Gem-Craft, ca 1970s;
Dragonfly, 2 3-4", pearly green, teal & burgundy enamel, by Edgar Berebi ca 1990s, and
Grasshopper, 2 1-4", two tone green & white rhinestones, by Liz Claiborne ca 1990s
All three in goldtone settings
What a bevy of bug brooches! I can't pick a favorite, because i love them all!
Some great pieces looking mainly from the mid 1940's, fantastic !~
Sincere thanks for the love

DejaVu they are a nice representation of buggies that goes with our never-ending summer lol :) I think my fave might be the Claiborne grasshopper, its green stones are really pretty. Thank you for your awesome comment and for enjoying this trio
Phil you are right, I can definitely see an art deco design esp in the Berebi dragonfly, good call! Berebi was known to make exotic type jewelry, it's hard to get some of his stuff today. Thank you for your super comment & great observ
