Hello group
My wife and I were fortunate enough to purchase what we believe to be a south American double reeded stirrup vessell. It is wonderfully decorated in a brown and light turquoise palette with stylized figures and symbols. This is a large vessel measuring approximately 13" in height by 12" in diameter. At some point in its existence there has been a reasonable repair to the base but otherwise is in nice original condition.
We would be extremely appriative if anyone with superior knowledge of such items could shed some light on it's origin and/or any other relevant information regarding images date etc.
We understand that artists/ceramicists created replicas in both form and decoration so apologies if we have miscategorised this.
It's such an eye catching artefact drawing admiration and comment when we have visitors so expect to hold onto it for some time despite owning for a decade or so.
Really looking forward to any helpful contributions from those with informed/semi-informed views be that positive or negative. Kindest regards.
