I picked this up at a flea market a few weeks ago, & couldn't quite believe my luck.
I know there is a fair bit of fake Daum & Galle glass out there, but I don't think there is fake Legras, so despite the low price I paid, I feel I just might have the real deal here.
The vase is made from dark olive green glass, with low relief floral decoration highlighted with (worn) gilding. The texture of the glass is "grungy" - slightly rough & uneven in places. It measures 22.5 cm tall, 4.6 cm across the top rim, & 6 cm across the base. There is a ground out pontil mark on the base. It is also quite heavy.
I think the plant depicted on the vase might be "Solomon's Seal" (Polygonatum) a plant which I have become acquainted with since moving to the Mountains 6 years ago. I've placed the vase with my examples of this plant to show the similarities.
