This emerged from recent sorting out in the garage. The pedestal is hollow and open to the bowl. The base is dished but also has a neatly ground but not polished pontil mark. The eight sides look to have been formed by hand, certainly not moulded.
Diameter at rim, point to point, 25cm. 10 inches

Looks a lot like a Kralik piece.

vetraio50, Amazing yes, but worrying when you don't remember buying them! Thanks for the fabulous.

John2Nhoj, thanks, but I think the way it's made will go against Kralik.

What a super piece to fall for all over again! The decor reminds me of this vase I posted a while back (a maker was not resolved, despite all the debate it unleashed)

Marin, If spatter décors hadn't been included they'd have had a much smaller exhibition...............

      Ha! Well said! :-)
By the way, I've been looking at pics of various Czech comport bowls here & there, could there be an outside chance it is Welz?

Great piece and the color is perfect for Halloween.

Marin, I always thought it was Czech but got no further. It was attributed to Bruder Frankel by Ales Kral, in a Facebook group recently. The way the octagonal rim is formed wasn't typical of either Welz or Kralik. And it's been boxed away for years.
