Hello I’ve just been online looking at some necklaces and it inspired me to get out a box of my vintage necklaces to see if I could identify anything that I may have missed years ago. Noticed this and think it looks like blown frosted glass to me, looks very interesting but unfortunately I know nothing about it.

Thanks Jen unfortunately I can’t tell you much about it but , I think it’s Art Deco as very long and I think those kind of long necklaces was popular back then. It has a antique look to it so might even be older.

Very attractive, but it's not blown glass.

Oh ok thanks John do you know what glass it is
    5. John2Nhoj John2Nhoj, 1 month ago
Just ordinary glass, which was likely colored green by adding Chromium oxide to the glass batch.

Ok thanks John, so what makes it frosted

The frosted finish on the beads
may have been done using an acid to dull the original glossy finish or the beads may have been sans blasted to achieve the save effect.

Ok thanks John, I have never considered how frosted glass was made
