    (925 items)

This is one of three great finds I made at the bi - monthly antiques fair last Sunday.
It drew me in for a number of reasons, in particular, because it complements a couple of other small Victorian vases in my collection.
This small rose bowl vase is made from cased white/clear glass with an vertical air trap pattern & a silky smooth satin finish. It measures 8 cm tall, around 5 cm across the pinched, tricorn top rim, & 4.5 cm across the clear footed base.
There is delicate enamel decoration of what is either ginko leaves or maiden hair fern, plus touches of gilding to the top rim & footed base.
As can be seen in the last photo, the two other vases flanking the new one are clearly by the same maker with some variations in decor & shape. The caramel coloured tricorn rose bowl displays the same form, the rose bowl on the other side has the same white ribbon air trap decor, & a similar style of enamel decoration (apple blossom on this one perhaps?).
I feel they are British origin, circa 1880s. Perhaps Thomas Webb or John Walsh Walsh (the ribbon air trap is a known Walsh decor).

John Walsh Walsh sateen glass for sure. Decorated examples are rare. They came in a variety of colors. Late Victorian. An excellent pick-up, IronLace!

Thanks also, Russel117, yes, I'm a big fan of Walsh Walsh glass, & always happy to add another example to the collection. Got another couple of other nice little ribbon rose bowls by Walsh as well, very classy pieces.
