This handmade Japanese pitcher is about 5" high 5" diameter, minus spout and handle, and 7" with spout and handle. It is signed on the bottom. It is of a size that makes it actually useful, not just decorative. I like the contrast in color between the base and body of the vase. It is an unexpected color combination. I also like how the maker took the time to add some of the same glaze that is on the body of the pot to the signature on the bottom. It has a nice splash of deep red and a nicely done crackle finish. With the occasional dot of black in the gray finish, it provides a lot to take in, if dwelt on a bit.
I think this might be Kutani as the first character in the mark looks like a Kutani kiln mark. A quick browse of my most used Japanese pottery marks sites did not help to identify the kiln.
