This ashtray is about 6" in diameter x 3.5" high and weighs about 3 lbs. It has a ground bottom and a mark, which is why I bought it.
The mark is a circle that says "Made in France" and a fleur de lis around the perimeter and "Art Vannes" in the center. That is unlike any other Art Vannes mark that I have seen. Every other mark I found was diamond shaped. I am not a collector of French glass but this piqued my curiosity. I could not find a listing of marks for Art Vannes. Is anyone familiar with this mark? I could also not find a normally marked Art Vannes piece anything like this...
It is a very nice piece of glass, very inexpensive and no real description of condition in the auction, probably because it has a nasty chip on one of the cigarette rests. I figured I could not get hurt on it too badly, and could maybe learn something new (ow, my brain hurts...). Is this a fake, knock off, different Art Vannes, uncommon mark?
