A Unique Christmas Gift

Last year my sister's friend got me a nice gift that I wasn't expecting. I was really broke last year and only bought stuff for immediate family. So this year I'm doing good so I got her a few things. She's an artist and likes dark stuff like vampires and goth decorations. So I saw this finial in the antique mall and thought it fit her style. It was full of dirt and dead spiders stuck in the crevices. Probably a good reason people had passed on it. I took a brush and some carb cleaner and cleaned it up. Then I used some museum wax to show off the patina.

If it wasn't xmas, I'd probably keep this for myself as it inspired many ideas! It fits perfectly on one of my small display cases. I thought a slight distressed silver leaf around the crown would really make it pop. We will see what Lucy does with it. I'm sure she will love it..just her style.
