Hello everyone!!
Here's one I just acquired. It's quite an unusual item and not something you'll see often. In fact, these are actually quite rare. It's Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum from Alice In Wonderland. I've seen the andiron versions of these, that sold for quite a high price. This pair was made by F.P. Smith Wire and Ironworks in Chicago in 1914. As you can see, F.P. Smith Wire and Ironworks was established in 1884, though I'm not sure when they ever went out of business. These two copper figures are mounted on a steel plate with machine screws and they each measure 5 1/2" tall and 2 3/4" wide. The plate they're mounted on measures 6" wide and 4 1/2" deep.
Thanks very much for stopping in for a look!!

Fabulous Tweedle Dum & Tweedle Dee, the sculptor really brought these Alice in Wonderland characters to life
Jenni,
Thanks!! Yes, the sculptor did indeed capture every detail of these. I found a pair of Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum andirons, but was not willing to pay the $2000 the seller was demanding.
