Hello everyone!!
Another of my equestrian themed inkwells is this wonderfully detailed bronze inkwell. I love the highly detailed dressage saddle, saddle blanket, riding helmet and hound. This one was sold to me as spelter inkwell, but actually only the base is metal, but the remainder is bronze. It was dirty and covered with white paint specks. It took me a couple hours to remove all of the paint specks, clean it and polish it. The original porcelain ink pot is missing, but not a deal breaker. This one came to me from across the pond and it's actually one of my favorites. Not sure of the age of this one, but if I had to guess, I'd say early 1900's as inkwells weren't really used much after the 1930's. The base of this inkwell measures 6 3/8" wide and the entire inkwell is 5" tall. It weighs 2lbs 2oz.
Thanks very much for stopping in for a look!!
