Hello everyone!!
I bought this porcelain Dalmatian a while back and, unfortunately, he arrived to me in multiple pieces. I was fully refunded and I debated on trashing it or keeping it around to someday repair. I had a bit a time on my hands early this morning and decided to take a stab at gluing this fellow back together. He didn't turn out half bad, but he's still missing a few small slivers that I was unable to locate as the box he arrived in was busted open and a few pieces must have fallen out in transit.
Anyway, he was made in England and is numbered 2271 (pic #4). He stands 14" tall and, as with all Beswick England porcelain pieces, he's beautifully painted and highly detailed. In my research, this particular design was made between 1969 and 1989. However, in my research of Beswick England markings, it shows that this particular marking was only used between 1948 and 1954. So, a bit puzzling to me as to when this piece was actually made. In addition to Beswick England, these 2271 Dalmatians were labeled as Royal Doulton as well.
Thanks for stopping in for a look at my Beswick England Dalmatian!!

Beswick is nice stuff, I can understand the disappointment of having a piece arrive broken, I usually put them in a corner for a while and contemplate later on what to do next after my grumpy button resets :)
Nice job saving this one. Still looks great.
When we sell stuff I'm our etsy store, people often forget the time and materials it takes to pack stuff properly, especially vintage glass. All this adds to shipping costs.
BHIFOS,
Thanks! Some pieces that I've received broken were beyond repair and I thought this on was as well. But, as you said, after my disappointment died down, I took a shot at it.
Dave,
Thanks very much! I completely understand about the packing. I don't mind paying extra to have items packed with extreme care. But, the way that some of my items arrive is absolutely appalling to me and I can't believe the seller actually thought they had packed the item securely.
I double wrap everything I sell with bubble wrap and foam, if necessary. I pack items so that I'm certain they can survive the brutality that they receive from the shipping services.
