Scott emerald green is such a regal color, in genuine stones it's one of the 'top four' (the others being diamonds, rubies & sapphires). It is also the birthstone for May which was my mom's, she loved anything green. Very glad you liked this brooch, thank you for your marvelous comment
DejaVu, the vintage costume jewelry designers of the 30s thru 70s had so much talent and style, this piece for example has an elegance and is quite dramatic when paired with a black velvet jacket or dress.
