Hello everyone!!
I recently found this cast iron inkwell and it fits right in with my equestrian collectibles. It’s a jockey helmet inkwell made in the very early 1900’s, possibly late 1800’s. There's a makers mark on the underside of the inkwell base, but I can't make it out.
Notice the horseshoe and horse hooves. I also really like the fancy gold accents. The original ink pot is long gone, but not a problem since I won’t be using this as it was designed to be used. It’ll simply be a desktop decoration. It measures 3 3/4” by 3 3/4” and stands right at 2” tall.
Thanks very much for stopping in for a look!!
