This painting by Mary Carr Roberts is about 6.25" x 6.25", minus the frame, and has her label verso. This painting was done using oils and cold wax. I have a large collection but I think that this may be my first painting using cold wax. I have several paintings that use encaustic, i.e., hot wax. I am not a huge fan of Abstraction, but do have a few. The colors and medium attracted me to this piece.
I believe that the frame was made by the artist, but she did those who would display it no favor with the deep shadow box frame. I am finding it difficult to hang in a place where shadows from the frame are not too distracting!
Roberts is a member of the Virginia Watercolor Society and other art organizations.
That is an absolutely beautiful work of art!!!
Gorgeous abstract painting, it's like sunshine under a blue sky
Thanks for your comment, Scott. A color junkie fix, for sure.
