Hello everyone!!
Among all the equestrian related collectibles in my collection, is this antique cold painted bronze lady riding sidesaddle, on her appaloosa horse, atop a pin tray from the very early 1900's, possibly late 1800's. It has all of the earmarks of Vienna bronze pieces and was likely made in Austria. This bronze piece is so incredibly detailed and has experienced only minimal paint loss during it's 100+ years. The base/pin tray are what appears to be made of black onyx. The entire piece is a really beautiful piece and I feel fortunate to have this in my collection. The entire piece measures 5" long, 2 3/4" wide and stands 3" tall.
Thanks so very much for stopping in for a look!!

Nice. My father's family is from central Kentucky; Montgomery, Bourbon, Jessamine, Bath.... My great grandmother's brother was marred to Florence McGrath, niece of H.P. McGrath. Their first child was named Price. There were usually stud horses and "women's saddles" or side saddles in estate inventories of my family's estates.
Beautiful side saddle riding lady on pin dish, cool find Scott
kwqd,
That's so cool. I've never seen a sidesaddle up close and personal, only pictures. I'll actually be meeting with a client in Winchester, KY today, which is right in that area of where your father's family hails from.
Jenni,
Thank you!! Took a bit to clean this piece, but it cleaned up and polished nicely!
