This basket is in a décor found on many shapes not only baskets. This basket is, essentially, a heart shape. However I think the mould was for a low bowl and the heart shape was formed later, instead of a rim crimp. I think this because the two curves at the top of the heart shape differ in size. They would have been the same size had the shape been made in a mould.
Length 20cm./8 inches Width 20cm./8 inches approx.

The rim makes it look like one of those plants that close on insects, beautiful colours and of course I like the spiky handle :)
