Hello everyone!!
A few years ago, I posted a very rare cast iron "Dunce Bear" doorstop. I was able to find another one a few months ago. As with my other Dunce Bear doorstop, It is not marked anywhere and I don't believe anyone has ever been able to determine which foundry cast this "Dunce Bear" doorstop. Some say that this doorstop is circa 1900 and others say even earlier than that. Either way, I feel very fortunate to have both of these Dunce Bear doorstops as part of my collection. It's shown on page 172 of The Doorstop Book (encyclopedia of doorstops), and yes, believe it or not, there is a doorstop encyclopedia. Pic #4 shows both of my Dunce Bear doorstops together. They each measures 9 3/4" tall and 3 3/4" wide.
Thanks very much for taking time to stop in for a look!!!

Jenni,
Lol!! Thanks very much for the fantastic comment!! Gotta love autocorrect. Funny when Apple or Android seem to think they know what you're trying to type. :)
