Hello everyone!
So, you probably just saw the sitting up hare I just posted. Here's the lying down hare that was sold to me along with the sitting up hare. As with the other, it is solid bronze and from the Meiji period in Japan (1868-1912). It is also signed by Shuzan. Shuzan may refer to multiple Japanese sculptors, including Yoshimura Shuzan and sculptors from the 19th or early 20th century. Their work consisted of bronze and wood sculptures.
As with my other hare, this one is also quite detailed and quite heavy as well. This one measures 9 1/4" long, 5" wide and weighs right at 9lbs.
Thanks very much for taking time to stop in for a look!!
