Hello everybody!!
Another of my match holders is this antique bronze plated spelter mother bird feeding her babies. This one is mounted on a marble base and quite nicely detailed. I've yet to understand the meaning of the candle, but I find this to be quite common on match holders in the 1800's. I have a couple others that also have a beeswax candle as well. There are no maker's marks on this one, so I'm not sure what manufacturer made this. The base is 4" in diameter and the entire match holder measures 4" tall.
Thanks very much for taking time to stop in for a look!!!

kivatinitz,
Thanks very much!! I actually have one other with a beeswax candle. I'm still baffled as to what the candle was used for.
