This clock features a finial of two solders sitting on top of a gilt and alabaster base. The clock is very top heavy and had to be buttressed in the back. When I got the clock the solders on the finial were peeling and flaking off, the base was grimy with soot, dust, and oil.
I also found the finial with an alternate base.
The silk thread escapement dates it between 1840 and 1845. In 1845 the Barcroft escapement replaced these movements.
