An old marked Tankard - with a gold sheen - very interesting marks but unable to find anything on google search engine.

Any ideas - think possibly pewter.

    thank you

I have discovered that it is likely to be 1835 and stamped in Southampton to show that it was the right size and the publican is not ripping off customers by giving them less booze. The patina which is goldy in colour is a natural gold from being under the ground for sometime.
