This 2" walrus brooch is made by Edward Swoboda, who used real gemstones in his costume jewelry designs. The eyes are freshwater pearls, the feet turquoise, and the body carved genuine jade, on goldtone. Signed Swo Inc ca the 1960s
Over the top fantastic walrus brooch! Not something you see often.
Highly unusual to see walrus anywhere yet to see one with real stones used. Love the blue turquoise with real jade, and yet such a great piece of glass with real deep jade colour of stones !~
Sincere thanks everybody for the love

Scott the walrus is a quite under-appreciated animal in both glass & jewelry, I'm lucky to have one in each now. Swoboda could surprise you with different animal creations and very clever use of gemstones. Thank you for your fabulous comment
Phil the jade carved animals were a favorite design by Edward Swoboda in his early yrs (50s-60s), then later when his associate took over the co, they relied more heavily on mostly gemstone pieces. The highlight gemstones are really nice here, making you notice the carved jade body better. Thank you for your delightful comment
Really appreciate the love for this walrus brooch Tilted, thank you so much
