There are a lot of beautiful lamps out there and a lot of nice parts that should be used elsewhere. I have a lot of Egyptian parts and also furniture I would love to buy. For intance a table I love in the 1805 Egyptian manner and in terms of cost when it does come up for sale it would be about 250,000 pounds sterling + to buy.
In 1993 I needed a couple pairs of small "candle stick" lamps I could not find anywhere. This pair of lamps was made up of parts I had stored. Ever since I was young I have changed all my lamps making them one of's or sets. Its what I have always done with lamps and always have, always will . I mainly had some basic brass candlesticks and an expensive but beautiful pair of Pharoah busts made of bronze.
The busts are about 5-6 times larger than what usually was not a full bust but rather just the face part made as part of a pillar addition to simulate a full head. These 2 busts ARE actually busts with a full head. You virtually never see one unless it was made to top a BED in the Egyptian manner that way, also made in the early 19th century.. I have gone through about 100-2oo actual Sotheby's or Christies auctions. Now since being made into lamps they are justified as having a purpose. The busts are fully chased and chiseled, with pinpoint accuracy. The parts quite expensive to me, about 800 each, but done now in the finest Empire Egyptian manner !~
