Compilation records have always been a favorite of mine. You get a variety of music AND get to see all the contemporary artists.

My parents had that "The Super Hits" record when I was 5. It melted in the Oklahoma heat. How I wish their albums survived! Wilson Pickett, Percy Sledge, and Aretha Franklin - they would all be mine, as I'm the only one with an LP player in my family now.
