Bought a shelf lot of oil/gas stuff and found this little gem. It's my first Sinclair piece, I've coveted Sinclair items for awhile. I just like the Dinosaur logo. I don't think there's a better one out there, aside from the Mobil pegasus or Gargoyle. I've looked for more, I'd like to have a 6 pk. of them but can't find them. Thinking maybe my first Sinclair find might be a really rare one.
The bottle is absolutely mint, never opened, and the graphics and lettering are perfect as well. The bottle is Duraglass, and looks like 'antique' or older glass. I'd like to know if these are common, when they stopped making them, and where the bottles were made. Any help would be appreciated!
I'm going to say the bottle was made in 42 by Owen-Illinois Glass.
Thanks tommy....that's what I was hoping. I live about 15 min. from Owens and have actually done some construction work there. What on the bottle indicates the date?
the "2." on the bottom, the "7" is the bottling plant number (Alton, Illinois). I saw your bottle on another site, are you selling or testing the waters for a value?
ahhh...I'm actually closer to another Owens plant. And yea possibly.... though not being able to find any others or info on it might change that either way. Thanks!
I would try sending Sinclair an email they have a contact us link right on their web page.
