I have a that same model that used to belong to my mother but in beige color.
I do have the complete manual and all the accessories except the satin and staright feet.
I could try scanning it and send it by email.
I have to say that it is much pretty in black!

      Hi, Vera5li. :-)

I suspect that most of the other Collectors Weekly Show & Tell users who've commented on this old post are long gone.

I found a soft copy of a manual for the Singer 224U, and at a quick glance, it looks to me like the same machine:

Vera5li, I was in too much of a real life hurry when I commented earlier. >8-0

ISMACS has bupkes to say about the model 224, other than that it's a domestic sewing machine:

      https://ismacs.net/singer_sewing_machine_company/model-list/classes-200-299.html

The website singersewinginfo dot co dot uk has a bit more backround about the 224U:

      https://www.singersewinginfo.co.uk/226u

So, a zigzag sewing machine with a half dozen pattern cams, and yes indeed, the model suffix "U" means that a sewing machine head bearing it was made in Utsunomiya, Japan, just as the model suffix "K" means a sewing machine head was made in Kilbowie, Scotland, UK.:

      https://cyndykitt.com.au/machines/id-02.htm

How different is the 224U from your Singer 224? I don't know, because I don't know where yours was made.

Japan's electricity standard is 100 volts AC; however, a glance at the 224U manual shows only some very general information about the motor on page 50:

      *snip*

The motor is attached to the machine arm as shown.

Before plugging in the machine be sure that the voltage and number of cycles stamped on the motor name plate are within the range marked on the electric meter installed by your power company.

      *snip*

I'll send a link to this post to your email. :-)
