Marie Kirschner delivered 277 patterns for Loetz production. She was an artist best known for her painting and design work prior to her work for Loetz. This piece dates from between 1905-08.
To quote Loetz.com "Her style relies more on elegant, timeless simplicity and well-balanced composition, than on spectacular decors and bizarre organic forms. Typical of her work is softly coloured, transparent glass (violet or green) with mat as well as intensive iridescence. She also used crackled glass as well as types with silver metal foil inclusions."
Very nice! Thanks again for sharing. The signature is great to see!
Someone went to Indiana... ;)
Great vase!
Yes, Indiana was fun to witness...the prices were incredible on the best pieces.
I was an underbidder - congratulations! I would have gone higher but there is a show in Maryland next week - saving my pennies... :)
I haven't posted it yet, but I got the medici secessionist silver overlay piece. The piece similar to the one I was coveting in your collection, Tony. Now...I don't need to pester you about that one. ;)
BTW - that Hofstotter trifold handled vase looked amazing. I bet it was doubly so in person. Paint me green with jealousy!
I was your underbidder on the S/O.
I felt your presence. ;)
