I am very interested in finding out any information I can on this piece. It has been in my family since I can remember.I remember it from my grandmothers house when I was a kid (62 now) and brought it home with me after my mother died. Only markings is the number 1469 on the base. It is heavy but I don;t think it is bronze (could be wrong). Any info is greatly appreciated.

If the piece is cold to the touch and non-magnetic, then you have a good chance of it being bronze. The greenish deposits on the underside could be bronze disease, which results from the component metals in bronze degrading and oxidizing.
The candlestick looks to be American Art Nouveau to me.
