I recently acquired this early canvas Coca-Cola banner, same seller from which I purchased the 30's glass/decal. I believe it to be from the 1910-1915 period, as "Drink Delicious Coca-Cola" was slogan first used in 1909. I found like banners listed in Petretti's 12th and several on-line examples, many have similar if not exact print form detail. I'm pretty sure this 16" wide banner was originally 12' long and at some point 3' was removed from one end, which likely was printed with "In Bottles". The seller said this is the condition it was in when he bought it, and it has been rolled up stored in a closet for many years. The colors look pretty good. It's an old piece of canvas, but that Coke red is still vibrant (a little spotty here and there). With 1/4 of the length removed, I'm sure this affects value significantly. I purchased because of rarity, and I figure at my advanced age and limited financial resources (3 kids draining my bank account!), this is the closest I'll ever get to owning a whole one. Now I have to figure out how to display it. As always, I welcome comments, critiques, and suggestions. Thanks. Best Regards, Dave

Awsome banner you should get it framed, thanks for showing it.

Awesome banner Dave! I would build a frame to match your coke room decor, oversize, and mount this on a black acid-free matte in it,it'll take up a good amount of wall space, but that is one cool piece that not many others will have!
      Great score!!

Thanks Trevor. I think framing it is a great idea. I thin red frame would soften that cut end, because right now the red border just ends at the cut line. My concern is cost to have professionally framed may be more than it's worth... Those picture/framing shops are expensive!

      Thank you Bernie,
Your comment addressed a nice solution to my cost concern:

I'm going to start looking into how-to. Thanks again.

LOL everytime I say I need to take it easy, a darn cooler pops up !!! I just made an offer on another Westinghouse. You'll feel great about it once it's on the wall !!!

I love this piece. I one similar but smaller. It does need to be mounted in a conservation manner. Contact me when you are ready and I will walk you through the best and cheapest way to go about it. Or you could simply sell it to me and save the hassel of having to frame it :)

Yes, it is a great piece of history...even in this condition. They just don't show up that often. Suggestion for mounting it: Most color copiers can reproduce good quality color, even picking up the wrinkles/creases. Suggest color copying the good side, flipping it and attaching it to the right side so it at least looks complete. Then mount it under glass. An easy fix to restoration. And yes, contact a reputable framer...who has experience framing rare items such as this.

Thanks Blaine. I will send you a note and appreciate any tips. Your comments and the others have helped settle my nerves. I felt sure this was something special, but did not sleep very well last night after buying it!

treetop, thank you! Great idea for reproducing the missing end, never would have thought of it. I better get my tape measure out again, need to find 12' of open wall space instead of 9'!!!

You might even be able to get the end reproduced on canvas. Contact a local printer.

Great canvas sign Dave! I agree with earlycoke, get that thing a conservation framing job. It will preserve it and you can enjoy it for years to come.
      Great score!

Hi Kerry, Yes I do. I added some recent pics to my original post. Thanks for asking. I included a pic of a similar canvas banner, full, from the same period (courtesy of TGBWC's vast archive of Coca-Cola pictures, documents, and advertising ephemera).
