Those were the days my friend.
Grandpa must also be thrilled by the prospect of returning home. I love the depiction of what appears me to be a commercial airline plane. The war was over. Thanks for sharing this.
I don't think so PDAM-- you can see the one is sitting on his knee. This type of photograph was popular in Hawaii during the War and after.
Photo studios often hired "native beauties" to encourage the servicemen to have a photo taken!

As much as I hate to say it, I have TONS of pictures of grandpa with various ladies through out WWII and Korea. Grandpa did like the ladies. He settled down when he met Nana, but he still had his wild side. I remember going school shopping with him when I was little. He stood about 5'3 and at that point he had white hair and striking blue eyes. When we walked into the store to get my school supplies, all of the women stopped what they were doing and said, "Hiiii Mister Loney!!" and giggled wildly. He told me those were his women too. Sly old devil.
And I did find out that somewhere I have a British Aunt. I don't know how to go about finding her, I just have her mother's maiden name. Grandpa lost contact with her during the war and was never able to find her again.
Not sure why we are looking at couple of seven year old posts of what are obviously staged arcade photos, but I did notice something interesting. This and the other photo are negative images. Notice his service ribbons are on his right side. They would be worn on his left side, so these photos are a mirror image. This fellow was probably just one in a line of guys taking the same photos with these two gals. I would have paid my $.25 when I was in uniform, too!
