Deanteaks
(291 items)
this is the only way I can post multiple pictures, but they are pretty cool, don't you think so, I'm interested in what this story has to tell :) one of the pictures has 3 heads on it, (3rd post 4th picture) must be the warriors trophys
These really are an incredible find ! If you look on the figures wearing blue on there upper shoulder is usually a character in a circle these (as far as I know ) are denoting a crest /affiliation . Only Samurai are allowed to carry swords or have that certain hairstyle ,decapitation was the punishment for most crimes or offenseses, one of the heads has a Samurai hairstyle so his transgression would have been of a different (not common ) reason prob political . You are very lucky to have these please do let us know what you find out . How did you find these ?
Samurai also would have these crests on there clothes as well but it is harder to see/ find as they could be worked ,incorporated into the design ,my eyes are bad so try a magnifying glass if you can these are called mon and you would be able to search online for the family name associated with it
Fantastic Deancakes.
Great artwork. I love the clothes!
All woodblocks are made by Utagawa Yoshiiku (1833–1904)
