Got this old Rambler American sitting in my garage. Tried to sell it a couple times on eBat and all I got was 2000 lookers and 30 plus watchers but no bids. The car runs and has current tags. Tried craigslist also and local people showed up with car trailers but wanted the car for a few hundred dollars. Others wanted to make payments? Not sure why people think you are desperately in need of money when you list things for sale? So, it sits in my garage and I drive it around the block every now and then. It is not a show car but it is not all rusted out in a field of cars either. My nieghbor thinks I should put white wall tires on it, but I feel its just fine as it is.
The wife and I had a station wagon version of this when we got out of the Navy in 1967, drove it for a few years then traded it in, ours was a 1960 with a stick shift and six cylinder engine.. Great car. I'll have to see if I can find pictures of it.
White walls would look very very nice!!
Looks nice, few hundred dollars!?! papa, check out the two photo's I posted this morning, I think the car on the far right is my grandpa's Nash.
This is a 1960 custom with the OHV six flash-o-matic. Most Rambler Americans came with flathead six and three on the tree. The custom model had more options, bigger engine with auto, the cont kit. Needs some restoration, just not my thing.
I agree, white wall tires would be pretty awesome. Very nice old Nash!
I was one of many that looked at it on ebay, nice car and right here in my home state of Oklahoma.
