Here is a good one. A Spin-Champ, rod and reel combo, manufactured by Life-Time MFG. Co., Chicago, Illinois, in the 1940s. The reel seems to work as it should. There may not be an anti-reverse built into this reel. If there is it could be hung-up, missing or broken as one isn't working. The rod is a two piece about 82" in total length, and is of solid fiberglass. All eyes and wrapping are very good. If you look at the fourth photo, to the left of the cork handle, you can see where the line comes through and then to the first eye on the rod. This combo was patent pending. From what I understand this was never given a patent number. This was a competitor to the Whirl-away and may have lost the patent fight. And that could be a reason why these are hard to find. When using, the reel is under the rod. To cast, the handle crank is turned backwards. If anyone has more information on this rod and reel, I'd be happy to hear it, there is not much at all on the internet.

I also have a spin-champ rod & reel in good condition, no damage, just missing the metal tag. If anyone has more information or a value on it, I'd sure appreciate it. Thanks
