Thank you Marvin Gaye for your great 1968 legendary version of "I Heard It Through The Grapevine", and thank you California Raisins for all the fun in 1986.
Those were the days,

Gotta love those raisins!
Thank you cindyjune
Packed away someplace is a premium I sent for back in the 80s which was a plastic bread slice & 3 raisin musicians. When you pushed a button on the bread, a microchip played "Grapevine". The battery has long since died and I still miss that computer generated tune. "Thanks, Marvin" indeed! Maybe my all-time favorite song. I get a body-boogie every time it comes on the radio (which isn't often enuf).
Geek-post the bread slice & raisins!! I would love to see that, what a great item. The raisins are a legend, I love to watch them on You-Tube.
I totally agree with you on the song, however, if I ever got a body-boogie, I probably couldn't walk for a week!
If you do a google image search for "california rasins premium" and go about 2/3rds of the way down the page, you'll see a very similar example, packy. It is from an expired Craigslist posting, however, so I can't just link to it. It is identical except for the female rasin figure. Mine has just a singer, sax player & other musicians.
Finding mine in the 200 boxes of cra...er, treasures my wife has stored is even more daunting....
If you can't find it, let me know and I'll send the pic to you ~ I saved it.
By the way, packy, I've been wondering ~ did you used to hang around OTWA?
Thank you very much PhilDavidAlexanderMorris, Pencil-necked-geek & mustangtony
