help identifying symbols native american?

I would appreciate any information anyone could give me about this rug all I know is it's 4 feet long x 2 feet wide & feels like it might be made from hemp? My neighbor is Catholic and when she saw what she thought was a cross on this she wanted it, But after she hung it up she claims strange things were happening & asked me if I could look up what the symbols mean.
