Hello,
I have / had an old parlor stove that had been in the family for years. Some of the mica in the front had flaked off and it was sent to the barn. Eventually it was in parts. Now the only two parts I can find are the two front panels with 8 old tiles in them. I was lead to believe this was an old Ben Franklin stove made by him himself ? :-)
While I do love the look of the metal work I am thinking of finding someone with a strong enough screwdriver to remove the tiles.
My question is - Does anyone know anything about these tiles? Specifically who might have made them and when?
Thank you for your help :-)
Lauren
These are really wonderful!! They stopped me dead in my tracks. Hopefully, someone will come along soon and be of assistance. : )
If you do take them out usually there is a stamp on the back. There are two popular company names such as trent tiles and low art tiles!
They look great just as they are. I would clean them up and hang them somewhere in the house. I'm sure that someone would pay a fine sum to buy them from you if you decide to sell them. I like them a lot! RER(BOB)
