This is an unusual subject matter for 19th century photography. The young person (not sure if it is a boy or girl) has been photographed using a large wall mount telephone.
The cabinet card dates from about 1890 and is by Leschinsky of Grand Island, Nebraska.
Input on the phone from phone collectors is appreciated.

Scott, Looking at the photo the telephone seems to be a American Bell Telephone made by Gilliland Electric around 1884. The photo isn't real clear. Gilliland Electric was one of five contracted manufactures to American Bell Telephone in the early days.
